This paper presents results to date on the development of an automatic feedback control system for controlling the temperature of ceramic samples being heated by microwave energy. The paper discusses three major topics: mathematical modeling of the microwave cavity, design and evaluation of the temperature control system, and design of the plunger/iris control system
