Abstract :
The authors describe the NAVPACK software package, for navigation system simulation and analysis. The fundamental concept is to create as modular a structure for the software as possible, with standard interfaces between separate programs and within individual programs. NAVPACK consists of distinct computer programs that perform individual simulation tasks which may be classified into four categories: trajectory generation, data synthesis, processing, and evaluation. These programs are combined as needed at the operating-system level to perform the required simulations. The discussion is illustrated with plots of simulation results for inertial navigation systems integrated with other sensors, such as GPS (global positioning system)
