Abstract :
AIRSAR data collected over-agricultural fields of the Italian Montespertoli site have been analyzed. Results indicate that a combined use of L- and C-bands allows discrimination between low density and high density crops. To monitor biomass, L-band is more effective for crops with low plant density, while C-band is better for high plant density crops. HV, circular copolar and 45° crosspolar polarizations are important for biomass retrieval
