Abstract :
This paper analyzed the application characters of limit state method on the strength design. In terms of specific operating conditions of a long-span overhead crane and "Crane design specifications (2008 )", rational load coefficients are selected. Finite element model with the main girder, end beam and a variety of supporting stiffeners was established for the overall bridge structure. The above operating conditions and load coefficients were used to calculate the static stiffness, static strength and modes of the bridge structure, and the design of the bridge structure was analyzed and evaluated. In addition, some key problems of limit state method based finite element method were discussed.
