Abstract :
We demonstrate 42.7-Gb/s operation of a compact InP Mach-Zehnder transmitter designed for 10.7 Gb/s. Despite the modulator´s steep frequency roll-off beyond 15 GHz, both optical duobinary modulation and optically equalized non return-to-zero yield excellent performance.
