Abstract :
A high-yield 10Gb/s electroabsorption-modulated DFB laser for spans up to 10km is presented. Compared to a directly-modulated DFB laser, it offers higher dynamic performances over the whole 0÷85°C temperature range allowing simplified RF test and cost reduction of the optical transmitter.
