Abstract :
During the SAREX-92 experiment a first mapping of the mangrove forests of French Guyana was done using SPOT and ERS-1 data. This paper completes this study by using the SPOT, ERS-1 (with 2 more dates), JERS-1, SAREX and AIRSAR-polarimetric data. A multi-source hierarchical classification method has been used to treat this diversity. A numerical comparison between the results of different combinations of data is presented and the ability of each separate data is studied
