Abstract :
A new simulation model for GTO thyristors is proposed by using a commercial circuit simulator, PSPICE. The model can be used in the design simulation of inverter circuits. The proposed model is easy to use for GTO consumers, because the model parameters are simply obtained from the manufacturer´s data-sheet and some simple measurements. The model can he used in accurate simulation of the GTO switching transient, and can be used in analyzing the interference between upper and lower GTOs. The model is a useful and effective tool in the actual design of the high power GTO inverter
