Abstract
Flow transfer is one of main causes of cascading failures. It is important to identify the initial fault line which has serious impacts on the power network due to flow transfer. The authors propose a method which is based on Fuzzy C-mean (FCM) algorithm to divide the initial failures which has different impacts on the power network due to flow transfer. The method provides an analytical measure to divide the different effects of different initial failures and try to find weaknesses in the power network. The method combines structure and operating characteristics of the power network and proposes an elaborate structure of the data samples, therefore, the clustering analysis is more comprehensive and an example in IEEE14 system proves that the method is reasonable.
