Abstract :
We present fabrication methods for novel chalcogenide glasses which allow access to mid-IR, especially the 3-10 μm range, with a further potential for extending the window to above 15 μm range. The fibre evanescent wave sensors (EWS) are designed for testing the proof of principle for measuring concentrations of micro nutrients in food.
