Abstract :
The extent of the usefulness and limitations of various engineering feedback control techniques in the delivery of anesthetic drugs is investigated. Particular emphasis is placed on the muscle relaxants. The closed-loop proportional-integral-derivat controller has been found to be popular and afford stability. Further improvement can be achieved with automated computer-control and adaptive control. A scheme for this is proposed
