            Abstract : 
This paper has discussed main advantages of OTN compared to SDH, has introduced OTN equipment forms and developing Status. The paper has also discussed the OTN application methods in WDM, in long-distance Backbone and in MAN. Finally the paper has suggested that the OTN is a good choice for future transmission network.
