Abstract :
We study the complexity of heartbeat dynamics during specific traditional forms of Chinese Chi and Kundalini Yoga meditation in healthy young adults. We applied the technique based on the algorithm of permutation entropy to heartbeat interval time series. The entropy of these oscillations during meditation was significantly less than those in the pre-meditation state. The results show, it is feasible that permutation entropy (PE) index can be used to analyze the effect of Chi and Yoga to restrain HRV.
