Abstract :
A millimeter-wave Gunn oscillator based on Whispering Gallery Mode (WGM) resonator is introduced and studied in details. We use full-wave numerical simulations to accurately model the coupling mechanisms and the interactions between various parts of the proposed WGM-based oscillator. Moreover, we propose an equivalent circuit model that can be used in oscillation analysis through harmonic balance simulations.
