  • Abstract
Hierarchical network control represents an expansion of the intelligent network (IN) concept to address other facets of network control. With this expansion, network administrative applications, as well as customer service applications, are controlled from a generic network entity. The hierarchical network control concept provides for the extension of IN attributes to the area of network administrative applications. These attributes include rapid development of new applications, cost effectiveness and instant ubiquity in the deployment of these applications, ability to customize applications in response to unique network or customer requirements, and complete management of application creation activities
