Abstract :
Using an input-output method and proper models and based on data related to the quantity of the exported products on the input-output tables of Beijing in 1997, 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2007 and to the total energy consumptions of Beijing on the China Energy Statistical Yearbooks of the corresponding years, as well as such data as the industrial energy consumption, the GDPs and the export volumes, this paper, through calculation, obtains the embodied energy intensities of different sectors of Beijing and the embodied energy of the exported products of Beijing. According to the empirical results, in Beijing, the embodied energy of the exported products increased with years, and the embodied energy export of the energy-intensive products took a large proportion; the huge export volume of the non-energy-intensive products promoted the increase of the embodied energy of the exported products of Beijing. Furthermore, this paper also gives relevant suggestions.
