Abstract
The temperature of building wall is a critical parameter for building energy consumption analysis. Due to its high accuracy and operation convenience, Infrared Thermal Imager is widely used in monitoring building energy consumption. However, considering the low contrast and large noise of the Infrared Thermal Imager, an effective denoising process is necessary for further analysis of the building energy consumption. This paper presents an infrared image denoising method based on total variation equation, which is in favor of maintaining the image edge features and enhancing image clarity. In this case, the final infrared images can meet the requirements in the field of building energy-saving applications. The viability of the concept has been verified by corresponding experiments of monitoring building energy.
