Art and game: Analyzing the nature of design

Design is the artistic creation activity conducted by human beings in order to accomplish certain purposes. Modern design has already taken on a diversified trend. Design becomes the tool to pursue fashion. The purpose of design is alienated, while the nature of design becomes vaguer and vaguer. With the intensification of interdisciplinary research of subjects, identification of the design subject and analysis of its nature can help to distinguish the natural function of design, which is the precondition to conduct effective design. Through an analysis of the nature of design activity, this paper applies the concept of art and game to talk about that the essential attribute of design is artistic creation activity, illustrate that the natural meaning of design is the creative display of the conscious of beauty, and proposes that the natural character of design is to display the spirit of games.
