Abstract
Autopilot system is one of the essential equipments in modern aircrafts. The stable operation of autopilot system is an important part in flying safety. Human-computer interface is the communication channel between pilots and airplanes. For this reason, design of human-computer interaction interface under autopilot mode becomes very important. How to achieve a efficient, precise, reliable and comfortable interface is now a subject more and more researchers study. On the basis of introduction to autopilot system and interface in modern large aircraft, this paper offers some suggestions to improve existing interface and proposes a design based on large screen display and touch-control by analyzing the pilots´ mental model.
