Abstract :
Mathematical models are developed that are used to define relationships between two characteristics of expendable weapons: the percent passing test when periodically returned for maintenance, and the deployed availability. It is shown how a built-in test (BIT) system in the weapon affects this relationship. Various other uses of these models are described. A nomograph which can be used to relate the percent passing figures to deployed availability is presented along with an example of its use
