Abstract :
High voltage storage capacitors have been widely used in industry, agriculture and military fields. From the former researches, it was found breakdown always happened during large impulse discharge process. Through waveforms comparison, large impulse discharge had the similar high dv/dt to high voltage rectangular wave. The high dv/dt caused much partial discharge and space charge effect to insulation under high voltage rectangular. Then, the capacitor research during large impulse discharge could be related with partial discharge and space discharge. Partial discharge happened severely under large impulse discharge. Space charge would affect the actions of partial discharge. According to the two main effectors and the work process of high voltage storage capacitor, partial discharge under DC is suitable for insulation property detection.
