Abstract :
The telecommunications environment is changing its face towards an open market of information services. Within this market the aspects of service customization and instant service provision are of fundamental importance. In this context this paper presents the architecture of an Open Integrated Intelligent Network (OIIN), a new approach to services in communication networks, which allows heterogeneous networks integration and provides an openly programmable service environment to overcome the drawbacks of the existing intelligent network architecture
