Abstract :
A generalized approach for the design of digital systems will be presented. By means of a special decomposition additional interpolative constraints on the frequency response are fulfilled a priori. The remaining parameters are determined subject to a chosen norm. Known procedures for the approximation of digital filters are special cases of this generalized approach.
