Abstract :
This paper presents a low noise and high gain Ultra Wideband CMOS mixer based on 0.18¿m technology. The proposed mixer uses a novel technique for enhanced performance by utilizing inductors between the RF and the LO stage to eliminate the parasitic capacitance. The mixer operates in the Mode "1" MB-OFDM Ultra Wideband (UWB) range from 3.1-4.9GHz with a channel bandwidth of 528MHz. Simulation results show a voltage conversion gain of 17.7dB, SSB noise figure of 5dB and an IIP3 of -0.788dBm. The circuit incorporates input wide band matching and operates from a 1.8V DC supply while dissipating 8.1mW.
