Abstract
In this paper the effects of the load on the gain, linearity and noise figure of a Gilbert double balanced mixer are investigated. Four different active double balanced mixers were implemented in 90nm CMOS technology and their performances are compared. A new design of double balanced mixer with an active load and 18 dB gain is presented. All four mixers draw 1.3 mA from a 1.4 V supply.
