  • Abstract
    Since the mid 1960s, the professional audio industry has been making a gradual transition from the use of traditional analogue recording and processing equipment to the use of digital audio equipment. The author, firstly, provides a broad overview of the areas in which digital audio signal processing (DASP) has successfully penetrated the professional audio industry and, secondly, presents a few examples of DASP techniques and systems chosen as indicative of the variety of applications available. He also discusses several areas in which difficult problems remain
