Abstract :
This paper discusses the results of some experiments that were performed to test the feasibility of high speed vector quantization scheme for low bit rate speech coding. Three different methods of codebook generation are presented and their performance as evaluated by the average distortion, signal to quantization noise, speed of implementation are discussed.
