Abstract :
A wireless office service (WOS) system is a virtually self-contained cellular system for providing wireless service in an office or campus environment. It co-exists with, and uses the same technology and spectrum as the surrounding public wireless system. For such systems to be viable, it is necessary to automate their RF (radio frequency) engineering process, and even to make them “self-engineering”. We devise procedures and algorithms to achieve this self-engineering at system-startup, and then validate them through simulations. Although designed for in-building or campus environments, with suitable modifications these procedures and algorithms may be applicable to more general scenarios
