Abstract :
With the need to reduce cost on Electric power equipment recently, investment in equipment will be controlled and the number of aged equipment will gradually increase in future. Certainly, it is requested that aged equipment should be used to maximum life span by postponing the replacement to as late as possible. Hence, it is important to discuss how we can evaluate and guarantee residual lifetime of equipment. As a strategy of replacement postponement, there is a possible solution of guaranteeing the lifetime by performing an insulation test on the aged equipment. In this paper, we investigate long-time V-t characteristics for aged insulated switchgear for power equipment. Furthermore, we discuss the feasibility of replacement postponement by executing insulation test on aged equipment subsequently.
