An ID-based key pre-distribution scheme for wireless sensor networks

Pairwise key establishment is a precondition of secure communication between sensor nodes. To facilitate the study of novel pairwise key pre-distribution techniques for sensor networks, we present a new framework for establishing pairwise keys between sensors on the basis of an ID-based key pre-distribution protocol. Instead of broadcasting, hash calculation is used to reduce communication consumption. We also analyze the security and overhead and compare our scheme with previous schemes.
