Abstract :
For the fast evolution of the science and technology, people in the present day have more requirements on mobile communication, Internet for wireless and multimedia amusement. An international market analysis in Gartner is presented in which Android system has a highest number of product to be sold in the past one year to compare with these following products, for example the Apple iPhone, RIM and Microsoft WP7. Currently, the performance for Android still needs to have a better improvement since the Android is still in a developing step and many multimedia functions are not enough. Therefore, we use and integrate ITRI´s PACDSP into Android system such that the performance of the video decoding has an obvious improvement. Moreover, we also present multimedia framework of Stage Fright for Android and introduce how the PACDSP integrates with multimedia framework of Android system to speed up the performance of video decoding.
