            Abstract : 
The visual fatigue is a common question in stereoscopic image observation based on parallax, and the essential reason is that convergence and focus adjustment are inconsistent, which violates the principe that convergence and focus adjustment are consistent in the real world. The paper explores the causes of visual fatigue in stereoscopic image observation by the visual physiology and psychology, by the stereo image pair, and by the free three-dimensional display parameter, and establishes the pattern of the visual fatigue factor and measures for the visual fatigue. Based on the pattern, negative parallax and the big ghost degree can easily cause the visual fatigue by the experimental verification.
