Abstract
This paper describes a new method for selecting the excitation codes and estimating the long-term prediction coefficients simultaneously in a simplified code-excited linear prediction coding suitable for a low bit rate transmission. Since the prediction of the long-term coefficients and the replacement of the prediction error signal with the noise sequence are carried out sequentially in our previous system, the prediction error signal does not always match with the noise sequence well. In the system proposed here, the prediction and the replacement are carried out simultaneously. The experimental results show that the quality of synthesized speech is good. Examples of processed speech by proposed method will be demonstrated at the conference.
