  • Abstract
AQM controllers operate at the network nodes to detect incipient congestion and indicate it to TCP sources, which reduce their transmission rate in order to prevent worse congestion. However, at present, these control models had been based on the single layer network architecture, and the senders and receivers had been connected by a pair of routers. In this paper, we present a network congestion control method based on the multilayer network and propose the congestion control theorem with the differential equations fluid model. Moreover, theory and simulation results verify the proposed congestion control method and theorem can effectively avoid the congestion problem of multilayer bottleneck network. When the network encounters many flows with large capacity, AQM system utilization still approaches to full utilization, while the buffer size in the order of bandwidth-delay product is necessary for the stability of the fluid model with full utilization.
