Abstract :
Interpolating algorithm strategy of multi spindle linkage is analyzed including line and arc rough and fine interpolation method. Cubic B spline is used as fine interpolating algorithm and error evaluation of arc interpolating algorithm is presented. This algorithm model is sample and can be used in many situations. Interpolation is the method, that is, CNC calculates all movement vectors according to the velocity and movement from program in order to control machine tool to carry out anticipant movement. Interpolation ability of CNC system reflects directly its ability of controlling locus. With improved computer qualities, modern CNC system is able to carry out interpolation of involutes, sinusoid, and spiral curve, etc., besides line and arc interpolation. However, because of their complexity, contour deflection (cutting knife radius compensation) isnpsilat considered when these curves are machined. Therefore, these interpolation algorithms can only be used on surface direct interpolation-SDI.
