Abstract :
This paper describes reliable signaling transport protocol (RSTP), which is designed to transport signaling messages of voice service over IP networks. This light-weighted application-level protocol, which operates on the top of UDP or other unreliable transport protocols, is used to maintain the connection and information exchange between VoIP signaling endpoints. This paper also discusses the differences from another similar protocol, stream control transmission protocol (SCTP)
