Abstract :
Wireless cellular networks provide measurements regarding the signal attenuation from serving and neighboring base stations for managing radio resources. These measured signaling messages can be obtained from each mobile station(MS) by the use of a monitoring system during the given call in passive manner. In this paper, we describe a vulnerability aspect of cellular networks to propose a new hybrid localization algorithm. In proposed algorithm a monitoring system can easily be informed about the location of MS by intercepting the air interface signaling messages. We show by triangulation that the proposed algorithm can outperforms the angle-of-arrival (AOA) technique without any need for using array antennas and line-of-sight (LOS) propagation environment.
