  • Abstract
    In order to improve the shipping efficiency and shipping safety, this paper proposes a ship scheduling decision support system (DSS) which integrates Data Warehouse (DW), On Line Analysis Process (OLAP) and Data Mining (DM) technologies. Under the background of large state-owned shipping companies, the design and implementation of the ship scheduling DSS are described in detail. OLAP is first used to access DW for multidimensional analysis and primary decision support. DM tool designed by us is used to uncover the hidden knowledge. The results show that the system is steady and knowledge mined by this system is interesting to shipping companies.
