Abstract :
Ferdinand de Saussure and Charles Sanders Peirce are pioneers of modern semiotics. According to Saussure, there is arbitrariness in the relation of the signifiant and the signifie, which is influenced by the social statutes. According to Peirce, the sign and the represented object have a logical iconicity, and he paid more attention to the influence of ¿conventionality¿ and the psychological facts of the interpreter. This article analyzes the application of semiotics theories in identifier design from the perspective of iconicity and arbitrariness.
