Abstract
The circuit equations of an externally linear filter realization are nonlinear state-space equations. In this paper, a method to test if a nonlinear system is externally linear and to calculate its transfer function is proposed. The method transforms the nonlinear system to an externally equivalent linear system (described by linear state-space equations), which can be solved to obtain the transfer function. As an illustrative example, a log-domain filter is analyzed
