Abstract :
We introduce integrated parking management system (IPMS) based on wireless sensor network. The system was designed with the object of a large scale deployment in existing facilities, and has been actually deployed to monitor over 400 parking spaces. This paper describes the fundamentals of hardware and software design, and several efforts to facilitate a long-term operation and ease of management. The evaluation results demonstrate that our system assures semi-permanent operation, while providing extensibility and manageability via network reprogramming-support and GUI-based monitoring software, respectively.
