Abstract :
Dial gauge is used widely in the production line, whereas it has some flaws in application at present. This paper presents a type of instrument system which can manage and test dial gauge automatically based on machine vision, and describes the machine identify technique of the dial pointer through the technology of image processing. By comparing the feed value provided by precision feeding mechanism with the actual reading of the examined instrument, the instrument system can accomplish the automatic examination. The experiment proves that this method can be applied in the production because of the fast speed and the high accuracy.
