  • Abstract
This paper proposes a new approach to detect the falling of the elderly based on intelligent space. The system can recognize the falling action by use of multi-sensor information in intelligent space. The detection system uses the image processing system to process images which captured from camera. After the silhouettes are obtained, we extract features that recognition falling needs. The surroundings and personal information is combined into the system and makes it smarter by customizing the system for each individual. With the surroundings and personal information such as height, weight, and electronic health history, we can adjust the detection sensitivity to reduce unnecessary alarms, and improve the systempsilas performance in detecting falling. Experimental results show that this method is practicable for the elderly falling detection.
