Abstract :
The concept of higher-order fractal dimensions is introduced in the field of computer vision and image processing. An easily computable technique based on higher-order fractal dimensions for texture classification is presented. It is angularly independent and invariant under linear gray-level transformations. This new approach is used to classify some sets of textures. The initial experimental results show that a perfect classification is achieved
