Abstract :
We report on large-core (up to 100 mum diameter) Yb-doped photonic crystal fiber amplifiers delivering ~1 ns pulses of pulse energy/peak power up to 4.2 mJ/ 4.5 MW, in output beams of high spatial quality (M2 < 1.3).
