Abstract :
The problem of improving horizontal resolution in a ground probing radar (GPR) image is discussed using a spatial deconvolution technique known as migration. Migration is used extensively in seismic exploration data processing to position geological reflectors and diffractors at their correct locations in the object (x-z) space, rather than with respect to their locations in the image (x-t) space. The generation of accurate, synthetic GPR pipe images is described, and improvement in the spatial resolution of a synthetic image is demonstrated using a seismic migration algorithm
