Abstract :
The Nobeyama Radio Observatory was established to promote a millimeter-wave radio astronomy in Japan with special emphasis on millimeter-wave spectroscopy. The major instruments at the observatory are a telescope 45 meters in diameter and an aperture-synthesis array consisting of five 10-meter antennas that are fully transportable along two 500 m baselines. A brief description of the telescope system and practical aspects of signal processing developed and applied for radio astronmy observations are presented.
