Abstract
As one aspect of ergonomics, comfort is playing a significant role in product design with the development of people´s awareness of health. In this paper, a brief review of concepts of sitting comfort is presented. The methods of sitting comfort evaluation are mainly divided into subjective evaluation and objective evaluation. Four questionnaires are introduced in the field of subjective evaluation, and a new questionnaire is designed to evaluate massage chair comfort. Body pressure distribution as one of the objective evaluation is reported, which involves several parameters, rational body pressure distribution profiles, and systems for measurement. Next, a conceptual framework of system for massage chair sitting comfort evaluation is presented by a model of sitting comfort evaluation index.
