Abstract
Based on the analysis of the emission spectrum, a simple model describing the performance of wavelength tunable Yb3+:YAG laser is developed. In the model, Yb3+:YAG is treated as the homogeneously broadened amplifier. Firstly, the comparison between the calculated and experimental results are made to verify the validity of the model. Then the laser performances for different crystal length and Yb3+ concentration are studied.
