Abstract
A new method based on the line structured light vision sensor for dynamically measuring diameters of train wheels is proposed in this paper. The measurement of wheel diameter is divided into 3 steps: measuring wheel profiles, selecting points on the same circle and fitting a spatial circle to the selected points. Experiment results have proved that this method is reliable and efficient.
